Simone Johnson, daughter of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, has signed her first professional contract with the WWE to become the company's first ever fourth generation athlete.

In a statement on Monday, the WWE said the 18-year-old had begun training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, in what is her first step to becoming a WWE Superstar.

Her father was a 10-time world champion with the organization, while her grandfather, Rocky Johnson, and great-grandfather, "High Chief" Peter Maivia are WWE Hall of Famers.

"It means the world to me," Johnson told the WWE's official website. "To know that my family has such a personal connection to wrestling is really special to me and I feel grateful to have the opportunity, not only to wrestle, but to carry on that legacy."

She later tweeted: "For the little girl who fell in love with wrestling and was determined to make this dream a reality β€” this is for you. I'm beyond thankful for this opportunity and ready to get after it. Let's do this."

Proud father Dwayne, 47, posted a tribute to Simone on Instagram shortly after the news broke, alongside a photo of the two embracing.

"Dreams ain't just for dreamers," he said. "Congrats to my No.1 born, Simone Johnson on officially signing her wrestling contract with WWE and on her way to becoming the first ever fourth generation WWE athlete."
