The NEMO is vying to be the newest plaything for the ultra-wealthy.
Designs of the lightweight submarine were unveiled in 2020, but U-boat Worx, the Dutch company that manufactures the NEMO, just started accepting orders.
According to reports, the deepsea explorer was initially priced at $1 million, but since the initial announcement 2 years ago, its price has been cut nearly in half.

According to U-boat Worx, the NEMO is the lightest manned submarine ever built.
The one-passenger offering weighs up to 4,600 pounds, while the two-passenger offering weighs 5,510 pounds.
The NEMO can go up to 330 feet deep, and can last for up to 8 hours of underwater exploring.
The company says it can be deployed from land, a boat ramp, or directly from a yacht if it has a crane.
U-boat Worx boasts that this submarine is not only lightweight but also small. The company says it requires less storage space than two jet skis.
The manufacturer says that the submarine structure is designed to provide an unobstructed view of the deep sea. "You feel that you are truly part of the underwater world," the website says.
