A truck drove into a group of pro-choice protesters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Friday, leading to at least one woman being hospitalized.

The group of mostly women protesters was demonstrating against the landmark Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade when an unidentified man driving a black Ford truck drove into them.

The truck rolled over one woman's ankle and led to her going to the hospital, witnesses told The Huffington Post.

In videos of the incident, protesters can be seen trying to stand in the car's way and shouting at the driver to stop. He accelerates and a protester is knocked to the ground.

"I'm still in shock a little. I saw a man try to kill two women while his wife screamed and told him to stop,"  local journalist Lyz Lenz, who witnessed the attack, wrote on Twitter.

Alexis Russell, the protester seen running alongside the car in jeans and a white t-shirt, told DailyMail.com that the march of 300-400 people had been peaceful before the incident.

She described the truck driver as "a gray-haired white male dude, probably in his 50s or 60s."

Russell said she tried to stop the truck by grabbing the steering wheel, fell over, and was injured when the driver sped off.

"I think he wanted to hurt me when he sped off," Russell said. "I landed on my butt, and it really hurts, and my lower back. My inner thighs and hamstring."

She added that the woman whose ankle was injured was "traumatized" by the incident.

Another witness, local politician Stacey Walker, told the outlet that he believed at least four people were injured.

"It was pretty evident the driver didn't intend to stop," Walker told the outlet. "I'm guessing this gentleman did not agree with what we were doing."

After Friday's Supreme Court ruling, large protests broke out across the US.
